The Government of Liberia through President Joseph N. Boakai has reiterated Liberia’s recommitment to further deepening and strengthening the country’s relationship with the United States of America.

Making a special remarks Thursday, June 27, 2024 at the reception in celebration of the 248th Anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America at the EJS Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, the Liberian leader stated that Liberia cannot sound enough its gratitude for the long, helpful, rewarding and promising relationship that has subsisted between the country and the United States from the founding of the Republic.

According to President Boakai, from day one of the ushering in of his administration, he (Boakai) has viewed the moment as a golden opportunity for the opening of a new and clean chapter in the Liberia and America relationship.

“My expectation is that this relationship should be a period of honesty, respect, transparency, equity, and probity,” he noted.

Boakai narrated that the 248th Independence of America would be a time that the fruits of the partnership go to directly and positively impact the conditions of Liberian citizens and elevate the image of the country.

The President said it is the hope, dream and prayer of the nation adding that Liberia has more than forcefully sounded the determination to ensure that the citizens do not indulge in business as usual.

He explained that his administration will lead by example and to ensure that the use of the products of the partnership bring relief and satisfaction to all who have invested in it.

President Boakai revealed that the country arms is wide open to embrace the new era of productive and mutually beneficial relationship with America, Liberia traditional ally.

“We join you as you savor your moment of clocking 248 years of existence, a viable and exemplary Republic,” Boakai stated.

“It is hence with great honor and humility that I, on behalf of the people of the Republic of Liberia, extend to you, Excellency, Madam Charge d’Affaires Catherine Rodriquez, and the great people of the United States of America, the sincerest of good wishes for success in all of your endeavors, regionally, continentally, and globally,” the Liberian leader concluded.
