The Liberian Government, in partnership with the Mauritian Government is offering an opportunity for fifteen Liberians to benefit from scholarships in Finance, Climate Change, Health & Disaster Management, Electrical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Architecture, Agriculture, Pathology, Public Health, Computer Science/Programming, Civil Engineering, Education, Management Information System, Environmental Science, Geography, etc.
According to the Ministry of Education, the scholarships are available for bachelor, master’s and MPhil/Phd at Mauritian universities. The scholarships range from 2 to 4 years, beginning 2024 and aim is to give a unique opportunity to Liberians to strengthen their skills and expose them to best practices and training in Mauritius. Criteria set for the program as follows:
Be a Liberian national with previous degree (s) and expertise in the priority fields; be a bachelor’s degree holder and be below the age of 35 when applying for master’s degree; be a master’s degree holder and be under the age of 40 when applying for PhD; be a high school graduate and be between 18-25 years of age; Possess high school Diploma, undergraduate and graduate qualifications with a minimum 3.00 GPA, or “B” average.
The ministry has requested eligible Liberian nationals to read the application guideline carefully at: http://ministry-education.govmu.org and http://higheducationmauritius.com and complete the online application procedure for both the undergraduate and graduate programs.
Meanwhile, the ministry has warned that if it is discovered that documents presented for the application process are not authentic, legal action will be taken against individuals guilty. Closing date for application is set for Friday, January 31, 2025, at 4pm.
