FIFA-badged referee Sylvina Garnett and assistant referee Hannah Moses are attending a CAF women’s referee seminar in Banjul, Gambia.
The seminar is being organized by the West African Football Union (WAFU Zone ‘A’) to develop the referees’ football understanding, tactical approach, decision making process, game management, players management and match control ahead of WAFU Zone ‘A’ and CAF’s competitions.
Eleven referees and seven assistant referees from the nine-member bloc are attending the course, which includes physical, theoretical and technical tests on the laws of the game, from 5-10 May.
CAF head of refereeing and football technology Désiré Noumandiez Doué, WAFU Zone ‘A’ executive director Mapathe Gaye (a former referee) and Fatou Gaye, member of WAFU Zone ‘A’ referee committee, are facilitating the workshop.
