Since President Joseph N. Boakai met with the President of Kosovo, Madam Vjosa Osmani in Dallas, Texas, United States of America during his visit, there have been mixed-reaction among some Liberians.
Upon his return back home, President Boakai told Executive Mansion reporters Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the Roberts International Airport that the visit of Kosovo’s President was not all about money, but to build relationship between the two countries.

Boakai indicated that apart from money, a person/country can get education, better experience; stressing that relationships are built for different purposes.

“All Liberians think about is the money you are getting from the place. Apart from money, you can get education and better experience. Relationship are built for different purposes and that’s what we did,” President Boakai explained.

He narrated, “Even if you don’t get anything from them, but you get friendship to gain from them and that friendship can lead to many things.”

The President added that there are other countries that have access and they are of benefits to Liberia.
President Boakai said under his leadership, Liberia will not close its doors to any country and will ensure that his government interact with everybody.

On Monday, March 6, 2024, President Boakai received in audience Madam Vjosa Osmani, President of Kosovo, in Dallas, Texas.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the US-Africa Business Summit which both Presidents attended.
During the meeting, Madam Osmani congratulated President Boakai on his leadership qualities. She also expressed interest in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and exploring ways in which they could work together in critical sectors such as business and trade, agriculture, diplomacy, youth empowerment, defense cooperation, coal mining, and more.

During their meeting, Madam Osmani spoke about the challenges her country faces in gaining freedom and justice in the Balkan Peninsula.

In response, President Boakai thanked President Osmani for her visit. He expressed interest in strengthening the relationship between both countries, acknowledging the potential such relationship could have on their respective local communities.

He pointed to the abundance of natural resources in Liberia that are vital to the growth and development of the country.

He shared his vision for attracting investments in trade and commerce, agriculture, and economic development to strengthen the bilateral relationship.
These, he said are part of his government’s ARREST (Agricultural, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation and Tourism) Agenda.
