Orange Liberia National Pitching of the Orange Social Venture Prize (OSVP) 2025 has concluded with Finndex Africa winning the first prize of US$3,000. Finndex Africa is a digital hub that connects homeowners with tenants and tenants seeking homes to sellers, bridging the gap and reducing fraud in the real estate sector.
The occasion was graced by members of the Orange Foundation Liberia, employees and spectacular pitchers, with David Baysah, Mahmud Johnson, Zuleka R. Woods and others serving as judges. Orange Liberia received 59 applications, but only seven were qualified, including Voices of Tomorrow, Visempro, Finndex Africa, The Schoolmate, GoLocal, Healthmate, and Farm-to-Market Solution.
Giving an overview of OSVP 2025, Orange Digital Center Senior Manager Zaza Mulbah said the competition was launched in 2011, supporting innovation startups that harness digital technology to create positive social and environmental impact across Africa and the Middle East.
He said in 2020, they introduced the International Women’s Prize to promote business ventures led by women entrepreneurs, and in 2017, the evolution included national competitions in 17 countries, with the top three national winners advancing to the international grand prize. Mr. Mulbah said the OSVP has supported over 500 entrepreneurs and received 15,000 applications since its inception, demonstrating a significant commitment to sustainable development in the region.
He stated that those who qualify for the program undergo six to nine months of coaching at Orange Digital Center with technical support, mentorship, and resources to scale internationally. Healthmate won second place with US$2,000; third place winner was GoLocal, US$1,500, and the National Women’s Prize was won by Voices of Tomorrow with US$500. Each participants were given five minutes to convince judges why they are suitable to win the prize.
