The Civil Service Agency (CSA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), has officially launched a comprehensive personnel and credentials verification exercise for all employees of the Ministry across Liberia’s 15 counties. According to an August 5, 2025, release, the initiative is designed to thoroughly review personnel files and collect critical data, to organize, maintain, and verify employee information for compliance, performance management, and informed decision-making.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Dr. Josiah F. Joekai Jr., Director-General of the Civil Service Agency, emphasized the importance of the exercise, stating that it seeks to ensure all Ministry employees possess the requisite qualifications, skills, and expertise needed to perform their duties effectively and professionally.

“This exercise is not just about data collection; it’s about building a reliable and accountable civil service. It also serves as a precursor to a broader, nationwide credential review and verification process for all Ministry of Internal Affairs employees,” Dr. Joekai added.

Francis Sakila Nyumalin, Minister of Internal Affairs, lauded the CSA for its continued support and technical partnership. He described the initiative as a major milestone that will ensure institutional strengthening and workforce development within the Ministry of Internal Affairs and, by extension, the Civil Service of Liberia. He also described the exercise as a significant step toward institutional strengthening and workforce development.

The personnel and credentials verification exercise, which officially kicks off on August 18, 2025, will be rolled out in phases across all 15 counties, reinforcing the Government of Liberia’s commitment to building a transparent, efficient, and productive civil service delivery.
