President Joseph N. Boakai has appointed Cllr. Jallah A. Barbu as the Executive Director of the Office of the War and Economic Crimes Court (WECC) with immediate effect.
According to an Executive Mansion release dated September 1, 2024, the appointment follows the recommendation of the Search Committee, which identified Cllr. Barbu as the ideal candidate due to his extensive experience and qualifications.
Cllr. Barbu’s distinguished career includes roles as the Head of the Law Reform Commission and as Dean of the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law at the University of Liberia, among other notable positions.
After the appointment of the Dean of the Law School, President Boakai expressed full confidence that Cllr. Barbu will carry out the vital role with unwavering dedication, a commitment to justice, and loyalty to the state as he looks forward to the significant contributions the new Executive Director will bring to the Office of the War and Economic Crimes Court in pursuit of justice for Liberia.
However, the President has further called on Cllr. Barbu to continue demonstrating diligence, commitment, integrity, professionalism, and loyalty in service to country.
