As part of his desire to rebrand and professionalize the Judiciary, Chief Justice Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay has ordered a credential audit.  In keeping with the instruction, the Civil Service Agency (CSA) has taken charge and is expected to begin a weeklong personnel verification and credential audit on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

At his induction recently, Chief Justice Gbeisay pledged to elevate the status of the Liberian Judiciary, outlining a vision rooted in results, integrity, and reform. “We will conduct what I call ‘credential audits’ to ensure that all staff of the Judiciary have the required academic qualification and experience to effectively perform their assigned duties,” Gbeisay said.

Employees appearing before the CSA teams must present original copies of academic credentials along with a national identification card.  The commitment by Justice Gbeisay has taken shape as the credential audit exercise, which is expected to end on September 4, will cover staff of the 1st and 6th Judicial Circuits in Montserrado County.

According to the Judiciary, CSA teams will work concurrently, beginning with the Temple of Justice to by the Paynesville Magisterial Court and the Gardnersville Magisterial Court. The verification will cover judges, magistrates, the Court Administrator, directors, and employees within the Temple of Justice, as well as staff at the West Point, Paynesville, Omega, Careysburg, Bensonville, Todee, Gardnersville, Bushrod Island, among others.
