The Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) Youth League has condemned the eviction of some residents of Saye Town and expressed solidarity with those affected. The group highlighted the severe challenges the eviction poses to the livelihoods of the affected people, describing the situation as devilish.

Addressing residents, CDC Youth League Chairperson Alvin Wessah described the court eviction as criminal. Wessah, however, issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung to address the matter. He urged the Government of Liberia to take decisive action against the eviction of peaceful citizens from their respective communities, warning that failure to do so will compel the group to rally Liberians to resist every form of further demolition across the country.

Wesseh also called on affected communities to resist individuals claiming ownership of their properties. The group’s action follows the recent Saye-Town court-ordered demolition exercise that took place on January 31, 2026, affecting hundreds of residents. The exercise was carried out in accordance with a January 8, 2026, Civil Law Court order issued by Circuit Judge Bioma Konton, mandating the eviction of occupants from the disputed land in Saye-Town.
