The Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) has declared its full support in protecting Montserrado County District #10 Representative Yekeh Kolubah following reports of attack on his political base.

Speaking Monday, July 22, 2024, during a visit at Representative Kolubah’s resident, CDC National Secretary General Jefferson Koijee condemned the alleged actions aimed at harming the lawmaker. Koijee said Representative Kolubah, according to Lofa County culture, is his nephew and President Joseph N. Boakai was an uncle, but the Liberian leader has now abandoned that relationship.

He said Representative Kolubah is a victim of President Boakai because the Unity Party took advantage the lawmaker’s bravely and wrongly used him against the CDC government.

For his part, Representative Kolubah explained that the Liberia National Police (LNP) raided his political base in the district early Monday, July 22, 2024, brutalized his supporters, confiscated cash, a flat-screen TV and other valuable items.

“We lied on Koijee; we lied on Samora Wolokollie; we have no evidence they were criminals, but our own UP government’s evidence shows they are stealing more,” Kolubah said. Meanwhile, the lawmaker has vowed to continue his vocal criticisms against the Unity Party government.
