The Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) Headquarters Construction Committee has officially announced October 18, 2025, as the groundbreaking ceremony for its newly purchased property in Congo Town, opposite the Greater Refugee Church. Addressing a press conference on Monday, October 6, 2025, Committee Chairman Representative J. Fonati Koffa called on all partisans and well-wishers to turn up and join the party Standard Bearer George M. Weah for the launching of the party headquarters project.
Representative Koffa said on Sunday, October 19, a Thanksgiving service will be held at the Forky Klon Jlaleh Fellowship Church to praise God that the party, born out of struggle, continues to survive despite all the temptations from the ruling government. Koffa disclosed that the land has been purchased but said details surrounding the purchasing remain under the purview of the party’s political leader, former President Weah.
“Funding for the project has come from a diverse pool of donors, and the majority of contributors, about 52 percent, are Cdcians, while 18 percent are from the ruling Unity Party,” Koffa noted.
According to him, the remaining donors include 10 percent independents, 10 percent from other opposition parties, and another 10 percent who prefer to remain anonymous. It can be recalled that the Government of Liberia, acting on the orders of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court, demolished structures at the national headquarters of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) in Congo Town.
The demolition was carried out under heavy security escort following a ruling by the Civil Law Court in favor of the estate of the late Martha Stubblefield Bernard, the lawful owner of the property. Sheriffs of the court supervised the exercise, which saw bulldozers and excavators tear down the Munah Tech Building along with adjoining offices once occupied by CDC’s Political Leader, George Weah, and other senior party officials.
