With support from the leadership of Bong County, the Liberia National Police (LNP) Bong Detachment has commenced the modernization of its headquarters in Gbarnga.

Addressing a team of reporters recently, LNP Bong Detachment Commander Farsu V. Sheriff disclosed that the project is intended to enhance the facility’s appearance and transition its operations from an analog system to a 21st-century digital system.

It can be recalled that in the budget submitted to the County Council late last year, the leadership of Bong County, through the office of Superintendent, allocated $2,000 USD to the Liberia National Police Bong Detachment.

According to Commander Sheriff, the money is being used to modernize parts of the police headquarters in Gbarnga, including the General Commander’s office and the Charge of Quarters, among others.

He listed the laying of floor tiles, painting, installing sliding window glass, and purchasing a computer for the Charge of Quarters as some of the major interventions made with the funds.

He noted that there are additional plans in the pipeline for improving the facility but emphasized the need for further financial support to achieve these goals. Courtesy By: Edwin D. Khakie
