President Joseph Boakai has been named Chairperson on reconciliation for the 60th anniversary of Lofa County slated for June.
Making the disclosure on Thursday, May 9, 2024, Lofa County Senator, Joseph Jallah said the Liberian Leader will lead the efforts in uniting the citizens following the 2023 elections.
Senator Jallah named the cultural committee headed by Josephine Korlubah while the accommodation committee is headed by GSA Boss Galakpai Kortimai.
Other Committees were named comprising media, security, fundraiser, and history among others and urges the Committees to work in the best interest by making the program a success.
Senator Jallah promised that this year's anniversary will be a prestigious one which will be marked by cultural activities.
“As Lofa celebrates its 60th anniversary, we reflect on the tremendous progress the county has made since becoming County 60 years ago. Overcoming the challenges of the past to build a brighter future, Lofans have truly shown resilience and determination. Today, we applaud the achievements of our
diverse tribes and the people who have worked tirelessly to shape into the vibrant and thriving county that it is today” Senator Jallah asserts.
As chief organizers of this unique event/occasion, which we anticipate to take place in Voinjama from June 15-20th, we do hear by constitute committees and appoint sons and daughters who will work in the interest of celebrating our county's 60th anniversary for the first time in history.
