The Civil Society Network of Liberia (CSNL) has described as baseless and unfounded parading publications that the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) is investigating the Minister of Commerce & Industry, Madam Magdalene Dagoseh. The civil society group said the allegations are a fake publication intended to besmear the minister’s character and undermine her laudable gains at the Ministry.
The Civil Society Network of Liberia sees it as ludicrous calls by misguided individuals for Minister Magdalene to be investigated for corruption due to her meaningful developmental contributions in Grand Bassa County.
The call, CSNL said, is not only a politically motivated adventure intended to injure the character of Minister Dagoseh, but has the propensity to discourage officials of government from making investments or contributing to developmental initiatives in their county of nativity.
According to a release issued on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, CSNL Executive Director Sensee Kiadii noted that their investigation established that Minister Magdalene Dagoseh has received no communication from the LACC regarding any investigation, though it did not state how the probe was conducted. According to the group, it found no substantial evidence linking Minister Dagoseh to any corruption allegations as reported, stating that the LACC is an independent anti-graft institution that serves as custodian of the assets information of all government officials, including Minister Magdalene Dagoseh, who has since made declaration of her assets, and the LACC is fully aware that the use of unverified allegations against an individual as a basis for launching an investigation raises serious questions about the commission’s credibility and independence.
“While the Civil Society Network of Liberia frowns against, and detests corruption to the core, the institution will not support those who are bent on making unfounded claims against the characters of officials of government without investigation,” the release said. However, CSNL calls on Minister Dagoseh not to be distracted, but urges her to continue her genuine contributions to the growth and development of Liberia.
