Lawyer Set Date To End Melee….In PUL

Lawyer-Set-Date-To-End-Melee--Atty.-G.-Alphonso-Woiwor

The lawyer representing the legal interest of Julius Kanubah Atty. G. Alphonso Woiwor, has set three months as a grace period to finally settle the election dispute.

Speaking Thursday, April 25, 2024 on a local radio station in Monrovia, Atty. Woiwor said the election dispute between Kanunah and the PUL is keeping the union inactive.

“As far as I am concerned, and as legal counsel for Team Kanubah, this matter will be resolved at most in the next three months,” he stated.

According to him, Team Kanubah through its legal team is doing everything possible to finally put the election matter to rest. He said the best way forward is for both parties to go to Gbarnga, Bong County to seek a resolution to the matter.

Kanubah’s lawyer added that the court is competent to make the final decision or determination into the matter that will give relief to the union.

He spoke of Team Kanubah’s readiness to make the necessary application to the court to resolve the entire matter.

“Right now, Team Kanubah has filed for a summary judgment informing the court that the other party’s attitude shows that they do not have any interest in the case,” Woiwor disclosed.

He alleged that since the case was transferred back to Gbarnga, then Vice President of the PUL, Daniel Nyankonah has never appeared in court; describing it as a disrespect to the court.

He said due to Nyankonah’s consistent absence from court, Kanubah’s application for summary judgment is seeking the court to rule in their favor.

“If the court rules in anybody’s favor, precedence will be the hallmark of the day. We want precedence, whether it is in our favour or not, we want precedence to be set in the union,” he explained. Atty. Woiwor said as it stands, the union doesn’t have a leadership, describing it as an unto-power.
