Former Montserrado County District #8 Representative Acarous M. Gray has frowned on the alleged selective demolition exercise within the district. The former lawmaker said the Ministry of Public Work has refused to break down affluent people buildings on all alleys, mainly from 3rd to 14th Streets.
He said from 3rd Street to 8th Street beach side, wealthy people homes have not just narrowed the roads but alleys leading to the beaches are built on. Gray said the road adjacent the city hall should go straight down to Jallah’s Town and Saye Town, but it’s deeply curved near the Tubman Building when the road should have passed through the building.
He said the Methodist Compound is also built in the alley towards the land side of Sinkor, something which he for twelve years as a representative fought with the Ministry of Public Works, making it very clear that he supports road development but not selective demolitions.
“Now the current demolitions in Saye Town have affected the masses. So when are we expecting your immediate action against similar violation by the affluent,” he wondered. Gray calls on independent media to sincerely take their cameras to areas in the Sinkor belt and verify these claims for themselves.
