Information Minister, Jerolinmek M. Piah says the dismissed Executive Protection Services (EPS) agents failed to meet the required qualification benchmarks before joining the service.

Speaking Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism press briefing, Minister Piah said the EPS by law is a property of the state and to be a part, one must be a Liberian aged 18 to 35, be a high school graduate and must undergo six months of training.

According to him, a good number of those dismissed officers were not high school graduates while some went ahead by presenting fake high school and WAEC certificates.
Minister Piah called on the dismissed officers who feel offended to channel their grievances through the court of law.

He said the act of making open threats is bad and called on those involved to desist.
The Minister told journalists that securities are trained to be law abiding and requirements that are laid down by laws cannot be waived.

Piah pointed out that some of the dismissed officers walked away acknowledging that they were in the wrong.
He said the government has the right to protect life and property as such, they will ensure at all times that security prevails.
