The Chief Executive Officer of the Substantial Trade Group of Companies, Anthanase Kintiga, says Liberia’s cocoa sector continues to play a crucial role in promoting job sustainability and environmental conservation in Liberia and the sub-region.
Speaking on Thursday, September 25, 2025, in an interview with our reporter, Kintiga described the Cocoa sector within the Liberian agriculture sector as a strategy and significant contributor to Liberia’s economy, providing employment opportunities for thousands of Liberians.
He also expressed appreciation to the Acting Director General of the Liberia Agriculture Commodity Regulatory Authority (LACRA), Dan Torkamawon Saryee and team for the collective working relationship and policy that is enhancing the sector. “We want to thank the new Director General of LACRA and team for the strategic and cooperation. We are seeing a new transformation under this leadership between the Coco farmers and business people and the government,” he stated.
At the same time, Kintiga praised the progress and development of the industry and expressed hope that the sector will continue to thrive in the years to come under the new leadership.
He revealed that his background in agriculture has greatly influenced his vision and passion for the Coco sector. Kintiga highlighted the importance of the sector in Liberia and how it has positively impacted the lives of many, while mentioning the significant contributions of the sector to the country’s economy. He called on the Ministry of Agriculture to enhance the working relationship and collaboration with LACRA, something he believes will improve the cocoa sector.
