Orange Liberia is raising the bar for corporate impact by sponsoring the Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS) on two groundbreaking international programs, in Occupational Health and Safety training in Paris, France, and Peer Review training in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. This bold investment is strengthening Liberia’s frontline protectors with world-class knowledge and exposure.
The initiative provided the LNFS team with a rare opportunity to strengthen their knowledge, learn best practices, and build valuable partnerships. Whilst in Abidjan, the delegation toured the Orange Headquarters, several fire service stations, the ship repair center, the twin towers, and the Félix Houphouet-Boigny Foundation in Yamoussoukro. These visits exposed the team to international standards in fire service operations and advanced safety practices.
According to the LNFS, the peer review training was an eye-opener that enhanced their understanding of operational efficiency, institutional capacity, and service delivery. The exchange of knowledge with the Military Firefighters Brigade of de Côte d’Ivoire (GSPM) and the Ivorian National Fire Service was especially impactful, with both sides benefiting from shared experiences and innovative approaches to fire and safety management.
Looking forward, both institutions agreed to strengthen collaboration through continued visits and capacity-building programs. The GSPM expressed interest in visiting Liberia to assess areas where they can support the LNFS in improving service delivery.
In his official letter of appreciation to the Chief Executive Officer of Orange Liberia, Mr. Jean Marius Yao, the Director of the Liberia National Fire Service, G. Warsuwah Barwoul Sr., thanked Orange Liberia for the exposure opportunities provided to the Liberia National Fire Service. He emphasized that by sponsoring this program, Orange Liberia has empowered the Liberia National Fire Service with greater operational efficiency, exposure to modern standards, and the tools needed to deliver safer and more professional emergency response services. This collaboration underscores Orange Liberia’s ongoing commitment not only to communication and technology but also to safety, institutional growth, and national capacity building.
