In preparation for the forthcoming by-election scheduled for April 23, 2024 in Nimba and Grand Gedeh Counties, the Ministry of Education has issued a directive to suspend classes in all public, private and faith-based schools in those areas.
The ministry said the decision is made in the interest of ensuring the safety and smooth conduct of the by- elections.
The temporary suspension of academic activities will come into effect immediately on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 and it is imperative that all schools within the specified areas comply with this directive, a release said.
The Ministry said regular academic activities will resume on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 and encourages all eligible voters in Nimba and District #1 of Grand Gedeh County to exercise their constitutional right to vote during the by-elections.
