In a continued show of compassion and humanitarian commitment, Bishop Nimley J. Donyen of the Independent Catholic Church of Liberia has donated 1,200 bags of 25kg rice to vulnerable families and elderly citizens across Montserrado and Bong Counties. This latest act of generosity comes less than two months after the Bishop made a similar large-scale rice donation to flood victims in various communities within Montserrado District #2.

The food distribution initiative is part of Bishop Donyen’s broader mission to provide relief and comfort to families affected by recent natural disasters and economic hardship. “The donation is aimed at alleviating poverty and restoring hope to the vulnerable population,” Bishop Donyen stated. He emphasized that the gesture is in line with his long-standing commitment to serve humanity and support the less fortunate.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Eric E. Davis expressed deep gratitude to Bishop Donyen and his partner organization, Compassion for Life, for their timely and heartfelt intervention. He also encouraged other humanitarian groups and philanthropists to follow Bishop Donyen’s example.

Madam Rose Himmie, another beneficiary, praised the Bishop’s continued support for the community. “The Bishop is on time again. Now that schools are about to open and things are difficult, this rice will help us save money that would have been used to buy food, and instead put it toward our children’s school fees,” she said. Bishop Donyen’s consistent outreach has earned him widespread admiration for his efforts to uplift struggling communities and deliver practical support where it is most needed.
