Speaking Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Ministry of Information regular press briefing, Deputy Minister for Public Affairs, Daniel Sando said this initiative was launched on Friday, August 15, 2025.
The initiative aims to provide a safe, confidential, and accessible channel for public servants and citizens to report corruption, fraud, abuse of office and other forms of misconduct. He said phase one of the rollout includes installations at the Civil Service Agency (CSA), Ministry of Education, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Liberia National Police Headquarters on Capitol Hil), Zone 3 Depot in Congo Town, and Zone 8 Depot (ELWA, Paynesville).
Additionally, the installation of the boxes is supported by the Government of Liberia and aligns with LACC’s legal mandate as well as Liberia’s obligations under the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), particularly Article 33, Sano said.
According to him, this effort will strengthen internal control systems, promote early detection of corruption, encourage citizens’ participation, and build trust in public institutions. Deputy Minister Sando noted that the LACC remains committed to creating safe reporting spaces and advancing the fight against corruption across all sectors of government.
