The Representative of Electoral District #2, Montserrado County, and Chairman of the House Committee on Executive, Sekou S. Kanneh, has denounced a ‘false’ report by the Independent Probe Newspaper linking him to a ploy outs Deputy House Speaker Thomas Fallah.

The publication had earlier on Friday, August 15, 2025, reported a story bearing the caption “Another Majority Bloc To Remove Speaker Fallah…As 38 Signatories Reached for Resolution,” wherein it named Representative Kanneh as the man to take over the post.  But in a quick response to the publication, the lawmaker categorically denounced “the false and malicious claims” made in The Independent Probe News, stating that this report aims to create confusion and instability within the House.

“I have not been involved in any discussion or resolution regarding Deputy Speaker Fallah. He enjoys the confidence and respect of all lawmakers, including myself,” he said.

Representative Kanneh said House remains united in its duty towards the Liberian people, and he is focused on serving his constituents in District #2 and Montserrado County by advancing national development and strengthening legislative oversight. Meanwhile, he urged the public to disregard this misinformation and demanded an immediate retraction from the publishers, adding that “All media must prioritize truth and accuracy in reporting. Together, we can promote peace, unity, and collaboration for the benefit of Liberia.” However, the publication has yet to bring down the post as confirmed by our reporter up to press time.
