Mr. Gbotoe noted encouraging improvements in performance, particularly in the LJHSCE, LPSCE, and LNAT.  He highlighted that overall outcomes have shown steady progress since the introduction of national exams in 2018.

For the 2025 WASSCE, 51,719 candidates were registered and examined across 379 centers nationwide.

The performance statistics are as follows:

822 candidates passed at least 5 subjects, including English and Mathematics, with credit.

However, results for 1,944 candidates have been withheld due to suspected examination malpractice. These cases are currently under investigation by the appropriate committee. Looking ahead to 2026, Mr. Gbotoe announced a significant curriculum expansion.  In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, WAEC will introduce 39 new subjects in the 2026 WASSCE.
