Grand Gedeh County Senator, Zoe E. Pennue says he signed the Joint Resolution for the Establishment of War and Economic Crimes Court in Liberia on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 in honor of his late father and uncle, former President, Samuel K. Doe
Speaking in during session, Senator Pennue said his family was a victim of the civil war on grounds that his uncle and father were killed by Nimba County Senator Prince Y. Johnson.
The Grand Gedeh County Senator said “My mother is happy today as she has turn 80 years knowing that those people who killed her husband and brother will not go without facing justice.”
He said Liberians have been accusing international community for supporting former President Charles Taylor for bringing war in Liberia, but now that international community wants those people face justice.
He said signing the joint resolution under the Unity Party (UP) regime shows that the party is intentional about rescuing Liberia as promised because the issue of war and economic crimes court is overdue.
The senator said legislators only talked about politics but they are now talking about signing resolution for war crimes court.
Pennue wants Liberians to take politics from reality. He thanked his colleagues for signing the joint resolution to establish a war and economic crimes court.
