County Attorneys/Prosecutors from the fifteen counties are currently undergoing a 3-day specialized training session organized by the department of Prosecution at the Ministry of Justice.
According to a press release dated February 5, 2025, the training which focuses on latest updates in the law profession, is being held at a local Hotel in Paynesville, and runs from 4th February – 6th, February, 2025.
Some of the topics highlighted at the 3-days refresher workshop include: an overview of the New Drug Law, overview of financial crimes, case management, importance of forensic death investigation, and reform of the coroner system and trial preparation, among others.
Speaking at the opening, Solicitor General of Liberia, Cllr. Augustine F. Fayiah, said this initiative will ensure prosecutors are regularly equipped with the knowledge and tools to navigate complex cases, address new challenges, and uphold justice in an ever-changing environment.
The updated curriculum covers cutting-edge issues and emphasizes practical strategies for successful prosecution in today’s courts.
The opening session was graced by Cllr. Massa Jallabah, Deputy Minister for Administration and Public Safety, Cllr. Cora Hare Konuwa, Deputy Minister for Codification and Cllr. Jerry D.K. Garlawolu, Assistant Minister for Litigation, among others.
