Twenty-seven nurses are expected to depart Liberia for Nursing Leadership and Management Training in India, scheduled from January 26 to February 8, 2025.
According to a release dated January 21, 2025, the training will focus on ethics and compassionate patient care, aiming to enhance nursing practices in Liberia.
The training opportunity followed as a result of collaboration between the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Indian Embassy, reflecting a shared commitment to improving healthcare standards in Liberia.
During their farewell remarks, the nurses expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry of Health, the Liberian government, and the people of India for the opportunity.
They pledged to excel in their studies and return equipped with the knowledge to make meaningful contributions to the healthcare sector.
Also speaking, Health Minister Dr. Louise Mapleh Kpoto extended her appreciation to the Government of India for facilitating this capacity-building opportunity, emphasizing the strong and growing partnership between the two nations.
She encouraged the nurses to make the most of this opportunity by focusing on their lessons and acquiring skills to improve healthcare delivery in Liberia.
Upon their return, the nurses will conduct training sessions in their respective health facilities and counties, ensuring that the knowledge gained is shared across the healthcare system.
The training program is fully funded by the Government of India, marking another milestone in the bilateral cooperation between Liberia and India.
