President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has nominated human rights lawyer Cllr. Findley Karngar as Chairperson of the Office of Ombudsman.
The president made the nomination last Friday less than three months after ascending to the country’s highest seat.
The Office of the Ombudsman is charged with the responsibilities among other things, to enforce the adherence to the Code of Conduct, which implementation has been hindered for a long period of time.
The president is also expected to nominate other officials to the Office of the Ombudsman to ensure its full operations.

Meanwhile, the Liberian leader has also made several nominations to government institutions.
These institutions include the Ministry of Finance Development Planning, the Civil Service Agency, the Financial Intelligence Agency, the Liberia Land Authority, the Bureau of State Enterprises, and the Liberia Special Economic Zones Authority.

At the Ministry of Finance Development Planning, the president nominated Paul Lamin, Assistant Minister for Administration; J. Wellington Barchue, Assistant Minister for Development Planning and Alice Williams, Assistant Minister for External Resources and Debt Management.
Others are Henry Yanquoi, Assistant Minister for Economic Policy Macro and Financial Sector; Dede Sandimani, Assistant Minister for Expenditure and Andrew N. Ngolloe, Assistant Minister for Revenue and Tax Policy.
At the Financial Intelligence Agency, the president nominated
Mohammed Nasser, Officer-in-Charge.

Also at the Bureau of State Enterprises, the president nominated Varlee Sarnor, Deputy Director General for Administration, while at Liberia Special Economic Zones Authority, Prince Wreh becomes Executive Chairman.
The president nominated Joe K. Williams, Vice Chair for Administration and Customer Affairs at Liberia Land Authority.

Meanwhile, President Boakai has constituted the Civil Service Agency Board of Appeal.
Those appointed, Dr. Jarso Jallah Saygbe, Member; Cllr. Cooper Kruah, Member; Dwight Momolu Harvey, Eds., Member;
Atty. John F Dexter Puieyou, Member; Cllr. Samuel Zaza, Member; Mr. Gwee Porkpah, Member and Mr. Josiah F. Joekai, Jr., Member.

These nominations, where applicable, are subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate, the statement said.
President Boakai further calls on all those nominated and appointed to continue to demonstrate diligence, commitment, integrity, professionalism, and loyalty in service to the country.
