The Civil Service Agency (CSA) has begun hearing into the dismissal of 25 employees by the National Election Commission (NEC). In a press release, CSA said it received a formal complaint on December 3, 2024 from 25 employees who were allegedly dismissed by the NEC.
CSA said in keeping with the Civil Service Act of 1973 and Chapter 6 of the Standing Orders for the Civil Service, the Examining Committee of the Board of Appeals for the Civil Service has officially opened hearings into the case.
Consistent with the mandate of the Examining Committee of the Board of Appeals for the Civil Service from March to December 2024, the entity said it has received a total of 105 cases including the complaint of the 25 allegedly dismissed employees.
Accordingly, out of the 105 cases, 45 have been successfully adjudicated and resolved, 6 investigated and pending final judgment, and the remaining 54 ongoing.
CSA assures the public that the ongoing hearings are a testament to the agency’s dedication to upholding fairness and justice for all public service employees and institutions.
“Therefore, the Examining Committee of the Board of Appeals for the Civil Service encourages all public service employees and institutions of its commitment to upholding professionalism and impartiality while ensuring that the rights of all relevant public servants and institutions are upheld and respected,” the release said.
