Lofa County Senator and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defense, Intelligence and Veteran Affairs, Momo T. Cyrus has lauded the leadership of the Liberian Senate for recognizing the committees as the most productive in the first quarter.

Speaking with legislative reporters on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 after the announcement by Pro-Tempore of Liberian Senate during the opening of a special session, Senator Cyrus praised citizens of Lofa County for giving him the opportunity to serve at the Liberian senate.

“The recognition of my committee has reenergized me to continue to work on behalf of the Country and acknowledged the President Pro-Tempore for her farsightedness in recognizing the work for the people of Liberia,” Cyrus said.
The President Pro-Tempore, Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence said the Committees deserve to be honored for their dedicated services at the Liberian Senate.

She said both committees chaired by Senators Augustine Chea and Momo T. Cyrus of Sinoe and Lofa Counties respectively were very instrumental in leading investigations into the true causes behind the recent protests by women believed to be wives and widows of military personnel of the Armed Forces of Liberia.

The President Pro-Tempore expressed gratitude to both committees for the hard work, which includes the submission of a comprehensive report that has been circulated to the Office of the President, all relevant ministries and agencies as well as individuals who were party to the investigation.
