The 2024 Elective Congress Committee (ECC) of the Association of Liberian Community Radio (ALICOR) has released the guidelines to members attending the 4th National Congress on Saturday, March 30th in Kakata City, Margibi County.
According to a release quoting Emmanuel Nyema Johnson, Co-Chair of the ALICOR-Elections Commission, all is now set for the 2024 Elective Congress.
Johnson said this year’s Congress will be held under the theme: “Sustaining the Gains made through participatory and sustainable community radio”, and is expected to bring together 66 community radio managers or their representatives.
The Co-chair of the Executive Committee praised the outgoing leadership headed by Hector Mulbah’s for their maturity in resolving the impasse over the voter roll cleanup and the exclusion of stations that should have been members.
The ALICOR-EC release stated that the following positions will be up for election in the 4th General Assembly: President, Secretary General, Assistant Secretary General, Financial Secretary, and the two Vice Presidents (Administration & Operations).
In the release, Johnson concluded that the roster of qualified candidates would be announced and published on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 12:00 noon, and that applications from interested candidates will be closed on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 12:00 noon.
The press release exhorts interested candidates and member stations to take due note and govern themselves accordingly.
