The Managing Director of the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), Amos B. Tweh and his deputies, Jacob Julius Smith and Eric Ceekay Saryee conducted an inspection of the ongoing construction project at the Petroleum Storage Terminal (PST).   During the visit on Friday, August 23, 2024, Tweh assessed the progress of the new tank under construction, which is a critical component of LPRC’s infrastructure enhancement program.

The project aims to increase storage capacity and ensure a more efficient supply chain for petroleum products across the nation.  Tweh commended the team of engineers and workers for their dedication to the project.

“I am deeply impressed by the diligence and expertise displayed by the LUTECH ENGINEERING FZ-LIC team and all those involved in this project. Their hard work and commitment are crucial to the successful completion of this new tank, which will play a vital role in meeting our country’s petroleum storage needs,” he stated.

The LPRC Boss added that the construction of the new tank is a testament of LPRC’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and ensuring a stable supply of petroleum products, adding “It also underscores our dedication to contributing positively to Liberia’s economic development.”

The inspection was comprehensive, with the management team closely observing various stages of construction and engaging with the engineers to understand the challenges and milestones of the project.  The Managing Director expressed satisfaction with the progress and reiterated the company’s support for the ongoing efforts.

It can be recalled that President Joseph Nyuma Boakai broke ground on August 9, 2024 for the construction of a 17,000 cubic meter tank and a state-of-the-art laboratory at LPRC. The new tank at the PST is expected to significantly bolster storage capacity, thereby improving the overall operational efficiency of the terminal.

This initiative is part of LPRC’s broader strategy to upgrade its facilities and maintain the highest standards of safety and reliability in petroleum storage and distribution.
