Grand Gedeh County Senator, Zoe E. Pennue has praised the Boakai Administration for road infrastructure on the corridor from Ganta to Zwedru. Speaking with Legislative reporters on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, Senator Pennue said the issue of road has been a serious problem for the people of Grand Gedeh County for several years.
He disclosed that during this rainy season, the corridor between Grand Gedeh and Nimba Counties is now in good condition that a son or daughter can now leave from Zwedru and reach Ganta within five hours.
“As a member of the former ruling CDC and a prominent figure in the Liberian Senate, I must laud the efforts of the Unity Party-led government under President Joseph Boakai,” he stressed.
According to him, the administration’s commitment to maintaining and improving road corridors within the Southeast of Liberia, highlights the progress made so far as compared to previous governments. He further said market women that were into frozen food business are now smiling because their market are now reaching on time.
He said bags of rice last year that were sold for L$ 8,000 during the rainy season, is now being sold at L$3,800. He recognized these improvements to the collaborative efforts of President Boakai and the dedicated team at the Ministry of Public Works.
Commenting on 285 earth moving equipment, Senator Pennue said despite there has been no financial agreement document before the Legislature, but once such document is submitted, he will definitely vote for it. He said the arrival of these machines would significantly enhance road conditions across Liberia, particularly in regions facing severe infrastructural challenges.
