Grand Kru County Senator, Albert T. Chie has pleaded with his colleagues for the allocation of US$1million each for the rehabilitation of the eleven domestic airports.
Senator Chie in a communication on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, said there is a need for government to rehabilitate domestic airstrips across the country for economic growth.
Senator Chie’s communication indicated that there is an economic benefit of resuscitating the domestic airports to boost the tourism sector.
He said it will attract foreign interests and local investors to the domestic airports and will also support the growth of local businesses as well as facilitate domestic revenue collection.
The Grand Kru County senator further said it will enhance reconnaissance activities in terms of national security surveillance, natural resources survey and the promotion of other socio-economic activities depend on the domestic airports.
