As a way to fight drug traffickers in the country, a group called, “Brazzaville Foundation” has launched a new medical initiative.

Speaking with reporters on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 in Monrovia, Jean-Yves Ollivier, founder of the Brazzaville Foundation, spoke about his foundation’s willingness is to establish a medical association to fight medicines that kill in Liberia and Africa.

Ollivier stated that the organization’s intention is to also fight drug traffickers in the sub- African region.
He ignited that falsified and substandard medicines deprive African patients of affordable quality medicines.

He pointed out that Africa is highly dependent on drugs importations; adding that 70-90% of medicines consumed in sub-Saharan Africa are imported.

Olivier explained that all medicines are at risk of containing toxic substances.
The Foundation Chairman lamented that his organization have identified five priority targets of the national plans.
