Liberian Sprinter Joseph Fahnbulleh made history for Liberia by qualifying for the Paris Olympics.
Recently, in the men’s 4x100m relay, Fahnbulleh anchored the Liberian team to a second-place finish with a time of 38.65 seconds, according to the World Athletics’ official website. The record set by Fahnbulleh is a new national record for Liberia.
Joseph Fahnbulleh, a Liberian-American Olympic sprinter and a 2x NCAA champion, made an impressive performance at the 2024 World Athletics Bahamas Relays. Fahnbulleh has been a star in the making since his collegiate days as part of the Florida Gators, and he recently showed his prowess on the world stage.
The audience at Thomas Robinson Stadium witnessed history being made as Fahnbulleh secured a spot for the Liberian team. He dominated the relay race with a display of sheer speed and helped Liberia overtake several others.

Last year at the Tom Jones Memorial meet, Joseph Fahnbulleh competed against Noah Lyles in the men’s 100m event. Lyles won the final with a time of 9.95 seconds, with Fahnbulleh coming in second at 9.98 seconds. This year, Team USA showcased its relay dominance in the Bahamas, winning four out of five finals. Noah Lyles contributed to their victories in the respective 4x100m races.
