Police Spokesperson, Cecelia Clarke has disclosed that the Liberia National Police (LNP) is investigating circumstances surrounding the death of Vivian Sando.

Madam Clarke said since the body of Vivian was discovered, no arrests have been made so far but added that two persons of interest are assisting the police in connection with the case.

“We have not arrested any suspect in connection with the death of Vivian. Two persons of interest are assisting the police in connection with the case,” Clarke clarified on Monday, May 6, 2024.

Deputy Commissioner Clarke stressed that no suspects were released as alleged by the family adding that investigations are ongoing.

“The Liberia National Police would like to inform the public that it is crucial to conduct thorough investigations into such case to ensure justice is served and perpetrators are held accountable,” Clarke told this paper
She is encouraging the family of Vivian and other interested parties to remain calm as all is being done to bring the investigation to closure.

In the Monday, May 6, 2024 edition of this paper, the Family of Vivian claimed that two suspects in connection to the death of their daughter were released for which they are demanding answers as who released them.

Vivian, a former female soccer star was the team manager for the Female National Team of Liberia before her death.
The family has expressed also concern over the slow pace of the investigation by the Liberia National Police.

But in response, the Police stated that they are thoroughly probing the matter to a logical conclusion; adding “I will not go into the details of the investigation until it is completed because doing so could undermine the processes involved.”

On April 29, 2024 shortly after Vivian left a party following a soccer match, she was attacked by unknown individuals leading to her death. The corpse of Vivian was found in a drainage along the Japanese Freeway in the early morning hours of April 30, 2024 by marketers who raised alarm.
